Job Overview

As an Engineering Team Lead for a seed-stage startup, you will play a critical role in driving the technical vision, strategy, and delivery for the technical organization.  You will be joining as a foundational member of our Core Platform team.  This is a small and agile team: we plan in weekly increments, we write tests, and we value collaboration.  This is a hands-on role that requires excellent technical skills, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

• Work with our CTO to lead the team of engineers responsible for developing and delivering an innovative payments platform for clinicians, patients, and various other end users within the healthcare ecosystem
• Assists in the deployment and release process to ensure we maintain our SLAs to our clients and customers
• Capable of conducting code reviews across the platform an in multiple repositories and providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to ensure that the engineering team is operating at maximum efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical leadership and representatives of the business to develop technical solutions that align with our business goals and customer needs.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on the company's technical strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of leading high-performing teams
• Strong technical skills in modern software development technologies, such as TypeScript, Python, and React
• The desire to want to grow as a leader and manager of Engineering Organizations
• Experience working with async workflows using queue/messaging, aka event architectures.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working with Heroku infrastructure
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Heroku is a plus
